In the current econonomic climate these paintings will probably be one of the best investments you could make not to mention remind you of time spent around the hills and coast of Donegal.
GERALD CARSON started painting as a boy while on holiday in Port-na-blagh and developed a friendship with two of Ireland's finest artists, Frank McKelvey and Humbert Craig, who took him under their wing and taught him the power of colour and the points of composition. Subsequently he developed a style consistent with the power and vibrant colour of this unique country itself. Exhibited in R.H.A. and Ulster Academy, The Gallery in Dunfanaghy solely exhibits his work while the Wren Gallery handles his work in England.
During his appointment as Rector in Dunfanaghy he became very familiar with the beauty of the local scenery and transferred it to canvas. Carson was Canon of the United Diocese of Derry & Raphoe, he retired from active service in the Church in 1990 and is now living in Coleraine, County Derry.
